Michelle Loteto began taking an unusual substance in his teens, at about the age of 16, and he performed publicly beginning in 1966. [citation needed] He had an upset referred to as pica, a psychiatric disorder characterized by an appetite for largely non-food items . Doctors decided that Lotito also had a thick lining in his stomach and intestine, which allowed him to consume sharp minerals without injury.
Lotito also had digestive juices that were unusually strong, meaning that he could digest unusual substances. However, this also implies that soft foods, like bananas and boiled eggs, have made him sick.

Lotito's performance included consumption of metal, glass, rubber and other materials. He disassembled, cut, and consumed items like bicycles, shopping carts, televisions, and Cessna 150, among other items. It took Cessna 150 almost two years to be "eaten", from 1978 to 1980.

Lotito claimed that he doesn't suffer from bad effects from his consumption of drugs that are usually toxic. When performing, drink approximately 1 kilo (35 ounces) of fabric daily, preceded by oil and drink large quantities of water during the meal. it's estimated that, between 1959 and 1997, Lotito had eaten nearly nine heaps of metal.
Lotito's method of eating all this mineral was to chop him into small pieces before trying to eat it. Then drink oil and still drink water while swallowing the coins. This acts as a lubricant to assist the metal cave in its throat. Lotito wasn't a controversy "passing" his unusual diet.

Awards
Lotito holds the record for "The Strangest Diet" within the Guinness Book of Records. He received a copper plate by publishers to celebrate his abilities that he also consumed.

the death
Lotito died of natural causes on June 25, 2007, ten days after his 57th birthday. He was buried within the Saint Roch Cemetery in Grenoble, his hometown.
